The Sporades are green islands in the northern part of the Aegean Sea. Well known for their golden sands, crystal clear waters and lush forests that often reach all the way to the beaches, these islands will without doubt enchant the visitor. From these islands it is possible to experience the turquoise sea grottoes. Part of the area of the Sporades has been declared a marine nature reserve and is home to dolphins and the rare, endangered monk seal, which is also supported by the WWF. One can enjoy hiking on trails through small pine forests, picturesque towns, and traditional villages, some of which are known for their millennia old odd traditions.
